Whats Scarier then Nothing... ANYTHING
I got up around 10 to do some work on the Internet! It was mainly a normal day for me except today I had the house to myself for a while. Typing away I was looking up fairs and flights to different places when all of a sudden I got disconnected, (they have dial up. I tried once again to connect but it was clear there was no dial tone. Just then I heard one of the upstairs doors slam shut. I’m starting to worry because there isn’t anyone home to shut the door. I check the two phones down stairs and silently I listened to the vast emptiness’ on the other side of the line. I hang up the phone and run to the computer room where I quickly snatch up the letter opener that will be my sword if I'm attacked. I silently stood at the bottom of the stairs peering up to the closed door. I take a deep breath knowing that the other phone is upstairs in Lyn n Richards’s bedroom. I tip toed into the living room and sat by the sunlight peering through the window. I had shut the door just in case someone would try to creep up on me and then focused on a script I'm writing (which just so happened to be a scary one at that). The anticipation was killing me. I needed to know if I wasn’t alone after all.
Like one of those cheesy scary movies, I slowly crept upstairs. (The audience by this time is screaming don’t look behind the door). With the sound of my heart thumping in my chest and mind, I turned the handle and BAM... nothing!
It turned out that the window had been opened and therefore must of closed the door. I picked up the phone and heard the gentle humming of the dial tone once again.
Relieved I shut the door and made my way down stairs again. For you may not be afraid of the shadows lurking in your closet or under your bed, yet the fear of the unknown may be the scariest thing in ones mind.
And that has been a Megan’s perspective!
